A Word from the Executive Director:

It has been proven that the hours between 3 and 6 pm are when juveniles perform the most amount of delinquency. Leaving school at 3:00 with no where but an empty household to go to, most children find other things to keep them busy, especially when it is warm outside. In most cases, the families we work with simply do not have extra money to buy clothing, food, or even pay their bills; leaving the children confused, angry, and feeling deprived. These situations and others not mentioned can have adverse effects on the youth’s personality, self- esteem, and schoolwork performance. As a program site, we try to recognize, treat, and hopefully better not only the lives of the youth that are involved, but the families as well.

Hanover Park Community Resource Coalition, HPCRC for short, is a chartered Illinois Not-For-Profit 501( C )(3) organization. Choices Program and Teens in Action Program, an affiliate of HPCRC, is located and operates right here in your neighborhood of DuPage County on Arlington Drive at Greenbrook Elementary School and Spring Wood Middle School. The goal is to empower the residents of Hanover Park by providing positive alternatives for youths and adults in offering a variety of different interactive programs. Through a series of life skills lessons, tutoring, hands on projects and constructive mentoring, the children that come have found a new approach to handing life’s tribulations.

On behalf of the Choices Program and Teens in Action program we look forward to your support and hope to be able to call on you as we continue to grow within the community. If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Choices Program and Teens In Action Program of Hanover Park for $250 and/or sponsor a child in our program for $50. If you would like to make a general donation to the program such as food, supplies, etc. please call 847-514-4349.

Sincerely,
Gayle Peneschi
